What does poetry have to do with touch?
The poets have always been special ones who touch the hearts and minds of listeners with words.
Shiatsu practitioners are similar – special ones who touch the hearts and minds of their receivers.
When we touch bodies, hearts and minds, informed by the lyrical traditions of Oriental medicine, there are no limits to the depths we can reach. There are no limits to the realms of space we can transport our clients to. Similarly, there are no time limits when touch activates the soul.
All of this means that as we nurture the poetry of our touch, we can reach levels of time and space that defy ordinary logic and the pathways of rational thought. A new logic arises, and reason is transcended.
In our weekend seminar, we will calibrate our touch and pressure to enable timeless travel and movement through layers of being within the eternal now.
Our secondary focus will be on unravelling the bonds of trauma, whether that trauma be personal from the current incarnation, inherited wounds from previous generations or karmic luggage weighing us down in our current lifetime.
Among the specific techniques we will explore are the following: Microcosmic orbit, Dragon point sequences, the 13 Ghost points of Sun Si Miao, Universal Soul points and a seated Qigong sequence: Ling Gong.

Shiatsu-Therapeut und -Dozent, Präsident der ESF (European Shiatsu Federation) und der EFCAM (European Federation of Complementary and Alternative Medicine) und Autor mehrerer Bücher (darunter das ausgezeichnete Touching the invisible: exploring the Way of Shiatsu und The Poetry of Touch: Alchemy, Transformation and Oriental Medicine) sowie zahlreiche Artikel in Shiatsu-Fachzeitschriften.
Chris McAlister wurde 1963 geboren und wuchs in England auf, bevor er sich auf eine Reise durch Asien begab. In Nepal und Tibet erkundete er die Weite des Hochlandes, erkrankte aber auch schwer an Hepatitis. Die Begegnung mit der orientalischen Heilkunst ermöglichte ihm die Heilung (Tai-Chi, Qi Gong, Akupunktur, Tuina, Bäder…). Daraufhin beschloss er, alles zu studieren, was er konnte, um zu verstehen, wie diese Heilung möglich war. In Japan und China trainierte er intensiv Kampfkunst, Akupunktur und Shiatsu unter Suzuki Takeo Sensei, dem Begründer des Keitai Shiatsu. Als unermüdlicher Reisender liess er sich schliesslich in Schweden nieder, wo er zurzeit in der Nähe von Stockholm lebt.
